Evian Grand Prix did not give its best this year

Evian presented it’s tricky weather conditions again. Saturday was a long day with a lot of waiting, and after all the qualifying was shortened and postponed to Sunday morning due to too hard wind. One hour, winner takes it all, Q1 session ended in Filip Roms taking the 10th starting place, while teammate Sami Seliö would start from 3rd.

In the race Filip started from the 10th but lost some potions in the start when another driver did not keep his start line. After a re-start and 25 laps of good racing and rising his position up to 9th, the motor started acting up. First Filips Baba lost all of it’s acceleration after turn bouys and in the end all of it’s speed on the straights, so Filip did not have any other choice than drive to jetty and retire from the race.

”Furstration is huge at the moment after DNFs in first two races, but it could be worse if I had flipped the boat in both races. We still have at least three Grand Prix’s and lots off WC points to collect, almost anything is still possible. Starting point to the next race is that the motor will function all trough weekend.”

Sami Seliö kept the Finnish flag flying by finishing the race 2nd and moving up to World Championship lead!

F1 H2O World championship serie continues 11th-13th August in Harbin China.
